no computer = no new creations

Apology:

I am sorry to say that during our time on the road, my computer decided to not wake from its sleep. Luckily I have a 3 yr warranty and it's only a year and a half in great condition. It is on its way to the Dr. and should return happily in my arms in the next few weeks. Please excuse my time away from my blog. There is not much to post since i have no editing programs, but I will do my best to update everyone on the tour soon (because it's going oh, so well!!!).

I cannot wait to share our stories, photos, and videos of our amazing experiences on tour!

Prayer requests:

Tiana and I are travelling to Cornerstone (an 8-9 hour drive) and are lacking reliable transportation. We have purchased the booth space and cannot wait to share pick a pocket with the folks at the festival! More about it here: http://cornerstonefestival.com/

My computer (of course) has not yet been diagnosed and it is my main means of ministry (as a designer and new passion for film/video). I know God will show his grace on me and get it back to me in working condition in time :)

Team unity: we've been on the road, in the heat, and low on funds for a few months and it's taking a tole on us. We love each other so much but we really need your prayers to continue the final few days with as much enthusiasm as when we started.

For some reason, I've just realized in the past few weeks that I am truly living out my calling. God has called all of us to take care of the widows and orphans, the poor and oppressed, the brokenhearted and captives. We are all called to bring the Kingdom of God to earth, it is just the means that we do so that is different for each of us. Mine is art. What is yours?

I'm so excited to see what the next few weeks will bring. My two worlds have collided. It has felt almost natural that all of my best friends from Germany are now in my hometown meeting all my best friends in TN. I've been so inspired by the creativity that looms over this city. The heart behind what people do here is so authentic and heartfelt.

My new friend Laura has a huge heart for the Lord, loves to serve, and is the most creative person I met in Nazareth by far :)

Hello NASVHILLE!!!



I finally made it to the land of the free. It's been a crazy past 2 weeks trying to get things scheduled, posters made, bands booked, and traveling back to America. Communication has not been the easiest while on the road, so I apologize if you are wondering what the heck is going on?

Good question :)

The tour prep team arrives in a week and we will begin to get the gallery, merch, and designs finished. We're heading to PA to visit a few churches, play some music, talk to folks about dreams, and serve the poor. Our time is booked but we hope to return to Nashville with another week of non-stop shows and events.

As most of you already know, The Anchor Fellowship is a church in downtown Nashville TN meeting the needs of their local community. The Anchor Fellowship has also founded a (501C3) Non-Profit called Anchor Mission, USA. The Anchor Mission, USA is church planting ministry that has planted churches in New Orleans, LA, Chattanooga, TN, Baltimore, MD, and two churches in Nashville, TN.

Today, The Anchor Fellowship has a new challenge to resolve. They are coordinating efforts in Nashville to be the hands and feet of Jesus, by helping families in his community clean-up and re-build from this weeks devastating floods. Many of you have expressed the desire to help out. This is how you can help.

Millions and probably billions of dollars worth in damage has come to middle TN in the past few days because of the flood that started Saturday night (May 1, 2010). We need your help! This is urgent but no one seems to care about us. National media won't cover this because they are more worried about a car bomb attempt or an oil spill (important stories, but this is something worth sharing too)

I just got off the phone with my brother who lives in my home town Kingston Springs, Tn. He and his wife were finally able to get out of their neighborhood do to the flood waters. Their house and belonging are fine, but unfortunately the rest of the city cannot cay the same. 4 houses at the end of their street were wiped away from rushing waters. Youtube search for Nashville flood and you'll find hundreds of videos of people's properties, cars, houses, everything, being washed away. It's heart-breaking to know that so many friends and family have lost so much. Most people do not have flood insurance since this is such a freak catastrophe and are now left with nothing

I say this all with absolute remorse. My prayers go out to everyone who has lost so much.

Hey guys,

Just a little note before I leave for tour. COME & LIVE! is a ministry based out of my church back in Nashville who have committed to share the love of Christ through their musicians during their time on the road. They need our help to send them on the road! I've met about 6 of the C & L bands and each continuously surprise me at how committed they are to their calling.

My biggest inspiration

I first heard about Hanson when I was 12 and was instantly hooked. Their music was something I had never heard before and there was something to them that I had never seen (I mean- they WERE sooooooooo cute!). As I followed them more I realized that their faith in Christ molded them greatly. These 3 guys have a such a huge heart for the needy.

A few years ago, they teamed up with this company called TOMS (maybe you've heard of them?). After that, they started a new movement: Take The Walk. Before every show, they gather at a meeting place in that town and walk a mile without shoes. For ever person who walks they donate $1 to their fund that is helping people in poverty. Most of the people they help are women in Africa with AIDS or young children who've never owned a pair of shoes in their life.

These days I can proudly say that I am a Hanson fan. I've been there since day 1 and can never leave. I know the guys will never read this, but thanks for being my biggest inspiration :)

On the road

Sooooo we finally got out of Herrnhut! We left this past Friday and have been hanging out in south Germany. Saturday we went to Balinger Rock Festival where we set up our booth, danced all night, met tons of youth, and talked to musicians.

Peter and I lucked out and got backstage press passes for the night. We strolled on past the stage and into the VIP area where a smorgasbord was setup for us to enjoy for the night. I was so excited to sit down and speak with the MC, Boppi, from the Netherlands. He was a funny guy. He is a sort of a road pastor who speaks at different conferences and hosts the Balinger Fest every year (more of him in my video).

Peter and I searched the back rooms for bands hanging out who could sit down with us for a short interview. Most of them were pretty laid back and joked around with us as we had coffee and cake.

Originally I wasn't that excited to go to another Christian Music Festival until I realized Holding on To Hope would be there. We were able to get an interview with the guys and talked about their music and their relationship with Christ on the road. They are a part of Come & Live! a ministry for musicians. Cory, the lead singer, has such a passion for his music to speak to others about the life Christ can give us. I was so excited we got some footage and I could hang out with people who knew tons of my friends back home!




We also got to chat a while with some of the guys from Kids in the Way. We talked with Wille for probably over an hour about this generation and ideas on how we really can end extreme poverty. It was a relief to hear that others really do think about stuff like this.



Peter will be editing the interview this summer and we hope to get the video out to the public by this fall.

The event as a whole was a great experience for our team. We had dozens of conversations with other youth about what their ideas of missions looks like, how they can fight extreme poverty at home, and we were able to connect with other musicians who can help us out on the road in the future.

The book is almost here! We have just $2,000 more to raise and 18 days. It's really exciting to see everything coming together. Here is the newest preview of the book:

It seems we have tons of fans in Europe and cannot fufill all the requests to visit. We've had to turn several requests down, but not without promises to return later this year. We are currently scheduled to go to Austria on May 5 and then have a weekend in Hamburg before we venture off to the states...

If you've been to our myspace, you'll notice not many tour dates have been filled in. We still need to book a few more churches or venues around central TN.
